Responsibilities As Senior Engineering Manager – Launchers, you will have full ownership of all development-related engineering activities in the Business Unit in Linköping. In this role, you will hold technical authority over the launcher product portfolio and drive product development in alignment with both customer needs and the company’s innovation goals. You will lead all technical development teams, including design, systems, analysis, jigs and tools, materials and process, and manufacturing engineering. In total, you will have approximately six direct reports. You are responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. A key part of your role is to build a stable and scalable team structure, minimizing reliance on external resources and securing long-term capability within the organization. You will appoint and lead the technical leadership team, which is responsible for managing technical escalations and retaining critical knowledge. Externally, you will represent the engineering function at a technical level toward customers, suppliers, and certification bodies. The position involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Global Engineering teams in Portugal, Switzerland, and the US, as well as with project management, production, procurement, quality, and HR. You will also own resource and capacity planning, team sizing, and individual development planning. This role reports to both the BU Vice President and the Global Vice President of Engineering. Your profile Mandatory Requirements - Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - 8–10+ years of professional engineering experience, including several years in a leadership role. - Proven background in the aerospace or space industry (e.g., satellite systems, launcher development, subsystem engineering). - Solid understanding of systems engineering, project management, and relevant technical standards (e.g., ECSS, ISO). - Fluent English, both spoken and written, with the ability to lead and communicate in complex technical discussions. Good knowledge in Swedish is a plus. - You have solid experience in customer contact.
